Did you know there is a city in Texas called Utopia? The definition of utopia is, an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say this place was perfect, but it was pretty close!
Anyway, we booked the cutest little cabin in the middle of nowhere that had its own little private creek in the backyard. We bbq’d, lounged, built a little dam, swam, fed some deer, killed a scorpion, made s’mores, and just let go of all the noise that is life.
It was wonderful.
We spent one morning walking approximately 1.5 miles of Lost Maples State Park in 100 degree weather before the kids were over it. That was fun.
The only complaint I have would be that there wasn’t a wet county within a 30 mile radius. I thought I had done the necessary research but it just goes to show that you can’t do enough planning when you’re going on a vacation.
All in all, it was a great time. I was constantly reminded to be still so that’s what I did.
