I delivered this gallery to the Lee Family exactly one year ago today! I was going through a bit of an editing struggle… and while I knew I was improving I also felt very stuck with my editing style.
I sometimes enjoy digging into past sessions (especially during slow seasons) and re-editing images. I was half-tempted to re-edit this entire gallery before posting it, but I think it is important to see growth in your work so I decided to leave them as is.
It is truly amazing what can happen in a short span of 365 days.
How much one can grow in 12 months.
An entire human being can be formed and beautifully created in 9 months.
8 months ago we moved back to our small hometown of Corsicana and it feels like a lifetime ago.
It took me 7 months to truly appreciate our new reality.
From the day we decided we were going to leave Temple to the day we moved into our rental home was 4 months.
We have started our lives over 3 times.
Picking up and starting over is hard. You would think one would get used to it or that the transition would be easier with more experience. You would also think that moving to one’s hometown would be a cinch, but I have honestly struggled more fitting in somewhere that I long outgrew.
Something clicked 1 month ago. It might have been that I was tired of wallowing in my own pity. The day came and it washed over me like a wave. I knew in that moment that His plans are so much bigger than I could ever imagine.
Despite what feels like being knocked down time and time again…
I choose joy.
I choose to say, not today.
I choose love.
I choose to focus on the small beautiful moments that create our magnificent lives.
